The spring of 1962 saw the creation of an institution that would go on to become a behemoth in the field of education. The fledgling institution began in a few rented rooms inside the Gaddafi Stadium, previously known as the National Stadium in Lahore. Later, the institution was relocated to Model Town, Lahore, after the co-operative Model Town Society Limited generously donated 186 kanals of land for the construction of the school buildings. Divisional Public School ascended to new heights in 1976, when it was designated as an Intermediate College. Following that, the Education Department provided the Junior Model School Building, and a Nursery & K.G. Wing was relocated there for the toddlers.
